• Ancient Akkadian Language
  The name Akkadian is derived from the city state of Akkad that became the capital of one of the great Mesopotamian civilizations of the ancient world. Although there is a lot we do not know about these people what we do know is that the language they spoke is one of the great cultural languages in the history of the old world.

  Ancient Aramaic refers to the language of the Aramaeans, which developed and spread through the neighbouring states around them. The Aramaeans were a Semitic people who originated and lived in upper Mesopotamia and Syria.

  The Assyrians were Semitic people who lived in the northern region of Mesopotamia. Assyria itself was located in a mountainous region extending along the Tigris River, the term Assyria was derived from the name of their original capital city Assur. The Assyrians first consisted of small independent states and kingdoms but eventually grew with the increase of wealth from trade into an expanding empire.

• Aztec Language
  The Aztec language, Nahuatl, still continues to be loosely spoken today in some regions of Mexico by approximately 1.5 million people, despite the infiltration of the Spanish culture in the 16th century. The Aztecs used their language to produce an impressive body of Nahuatl literature, including poetry, which continues to be revered today.

• Cherokee Language
  The Cherokee are a people native to North America who populated the Eastern and Southeastern United States before being forcibly moved to Northeastern Oklahoma during the infamous Trail of Tears in 1838-39 by order of President Andrew Jackson. The Cherokee language, known to the native people as Tsalagi, is spoken today by approximately 22,000 people, mostly in Western North Carolina and Northeastern Oklahoma.

• Chinook Language
  The Chinook nation was a group of Native Americans that inhabited the Pacific Northwest of the United States, residing in the Lower Columbia River Valley in Washington and Oregon. The nation of Chinook are comprised of the Clatsop, Cathlamet, Multnomah, Watlala, Clowwewalla, Clackamas, Chilluckittequa, and Wasco tribes. The Chinook language was made up of several different dialects. Chinookan, as it is referred to, is a small family of 3 languages that contain these different dialects.

• Croatian Language
  The Croatian language has a long and complicated history. Today, the language is the official tongue of the countries of Croatia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina. • Czech Language
  The Czech people speak the Czech language. It is one of the West Slavic languages, and is spoken by most people living in the Czech Republic, as well as small populations in the United States, Canada, Germany, and Slovakia. Roughly 12 million people worldwide speak the language, which is very close to the Slovak and Polish languages. It is not uncommon for many adults from the Czech Republic and Slovakia to be able to communicate with one another with little difficulty.

• Danish Language
  The Danish language is spoken by 5.5 million people chiefly in Denmark, but also in Greenland, Germany, and the Faroe Islands. In Germany, the Danish language is considered a protected minority language. The Danish language is also an official language of the European Union.

  The Farsi language, known as the Persian language today, is the most widely spoken language in the Iranian branch of the Indo-Irania languages.
